Sharon Nyangweso (She/Her)

Sharon (She/Her) is the Founder and CEO of QuakeLab, a full-stack equity agency, Sharon Nyangweso specializes in a radical new approach to problem solving with an equity lens that is measurable, strategic, and based on a strong foundation of design thinking. An immigrant from Kenya who has lived and worked in Canada for more than ten years, she has worked across sectors with organizations in 11 countries. Sharon is a TEDx speaker and has been recognized as a Globe & Mail Report on Business Magazine 2022 Changemakers Award Recipient, 2022 Black Entrepreneur of the Year nominee and Ottawa Consulting Agency of the Year 2023.

Sanaa Jabeen Mughal (She/Her)

QuakeLab Project Director

Sanaa Mughal is a strategist with a background in marketing, writing and brand identity. She has worked with various companies to develop their brand strategies and digital campaigns, and has also worked as a consultant to help entrepreneurs with their business planning. Based in Nairobi, Sanaa is passionate about strategic thinking and purpose driven work. Sanaa is also a writer who is working towards building her writing capabilities, specifically for essays and short stories.

Christina Charles (She/Her)

QuakeLab Data Lead

Christina is a PhD student in Rehabilitation Sciences and member of the Student Experience Working Group of the Action Committee on Anti-Racism and Inclusion at the University of Ottawa. Her curiosity is currently piqued by the educational and social experiences of English-French bilingual adolescents in Canada. As a biracial woman and second-generation immigrant, her research is centered around racialized and low-income students, who are currently underrepresented in bilingual education programs -- as well as those living with learning exceptionalities. With two degrees in psychology, Christina operates within a transformative paradigm of research and takes a human-centered approach to important conversations on diversity, equity, and inclusion. She finds meaning in staying attuned to community needs and responding to calls to action.

Jessica Theron (She/Her)

Managing Partner, Finance & Operations at QuakeLab

With a career spanning from administrative assistant to accounts payable, project accounting, and cost control, Jessica brings a deep, hands-on understanding of finance and operations to her role at QuakeLab. Jessica has successfully managed projects ranging from $395 to $100 million, demonstrating her versatility and capability in overseeing both large-scale initiatives and smaller, targeted projects. Her expertise extends to partnering with small- to medium-sized businesses to set up or revamp existing processes and policies, ensuring efficiency and sustainability in financial operations. Jessica is passionate about building a workplace culture where everyone can thrive, recognizing that true success looks different for each individual. Jessica’s leadership embodies a commitment to equity and operational excellence, making her an invaluable part of QuakeLab’s mission to address complex challenges with a strategic, inclusive approach.
