Why we’re doing this
A lot of research focuses on hiring, job loss, and wages, but far less is known about what happens after someone gets the job. How are people promoted (or not)? Who gets access to paid time off and benefits? What does performance management really look like from the employee perspective?
At QuakeLab, we believe we can’t build better workplaces unless we understand how existing systems work, and who they’re working for.
This survey is part of a national data project to capture those experiences.
What we’re asking about
We're gathering anonymous responses from people across Canada on:
Promotions and career mobility
Paid time off (vacation and sick leave)
Workplace benefits and access
Performance evaluations and feedback
Parental leave experiences
The policies that shaped your time at work
The goal is to better understand how these systems operate in practice and how they affect different people differently.
Who can take part?
Anyone who has worked in Canada in the last 2 years in any role, sector, or province. We want to hear from full-time, part-time, freelance, contract, and gig workers.
It takes 5–7 minutes, is completely anonymous, and is open to anyone who consents to share their experience.
What this is and isn’t
This is not an academic study and is not affiliated with any institution. It won’t be reviewed by an ethics board. It’s a community-driven data project led by QuakeLab, a workplace equity firm focused on building systems-level insights.
The findings will be shared publicly to support better policies and more equitable employment practices across Canada.
